Two cable thieves arrested in lagos
Agents of Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command in particular frequencies yesterday captured two suspects over the vandalisation of link and transformer.
The suspects, Oladele Elegbede, 54 and Andrew Onoriode 25, were captured at a young hour in the morning by the agents in Dopemu and Alausa range of the State with vandalized link and transformer earth.
One of the suspects, a granddad of three, Oladele Elegbede, who is a prepared circuit tester, was captured early Saturday morning by the agents of Rapid Response Squad in Dopemu for vandalizing transformer links around 4:37 a.m. recently. He is from Ilaro, Ogun State.
Elegbede had seven days before the episode stolen links around the transformer, tossing the whole group into murkiness.
A portion of the occupants of the zone, who took after Elegbede to RRS Headquarters in Alausa, charged that he was the one in charge of the vandalisation of the transformer link on Monday.
Elegbede, who was discovered with a cutting plier, admitted that he vandalized links at whatever point he was bankrupt. He included that he had sold vandalized links in Railway Crossing more than seven times.
In his admission, he said "I was captured around to 5:00 a.m. I went to that transformer to work. I was there a week ago. I cut link at whatever point I am down and out. I have three grandchildren. My better half is dead… . The last link I sold measured one kilo. I was paid N1,500:00. I sold it at Oju Irin Pen Cinema. The one I simply cut can bring me N1,300:00."
As per a piece metal merchant who the speculate fingered as his purchaser, Abdulsamod Yau, "I have purchased link from him (indicating Elegbede) like seven times."
The second link cheat, Andrew Onoriode, 25, who guaranteed to be an easygoing staff of Nigerian Bottling Company, Agidingbi plant in Ikeja was captured behind Shoprite Ikeja with a newly slice heavily clad link accepted to have a place with the Lagos State Ministry of Works.
As indicated by examiners, the link was cut from the system providing forces to a portion of the structures around the Secretariat.
The two suspects have been exchanged to the Lagos State Taskforce for indictment.
